Congratulations to Wendy Rudolph
VASP School Psychologist of the Year
Posted: 10/23/2009
Dr. Rudolph is a school psychologist in Faifax County and was nominated with high honors. Although Dr. Rudolph was not able to accept the award in person, she sent a speech, which was read by her supervisor, Dr. Dede Bailer. Dr. Rudolph was highly deserving of this award and her nomination packet will be sent to the National Association of School Psychologist to compete for NASP School Psychologist of the Year.
The VPA Fall Convention has always been a draw for school psychologists around the state. Despite the dwindling economy, this year was no exception! The convention was full of VASP sponsored events that were not only a draw to school psychologists, but to other academies as well. President Elect, Barb Banze, organized the VASP-sponsored portion this incredible event. Thanks, Barb!
Thanks to Tamara Salamon for organizing our first annual VASP Mentor Program. An call went out to members in our last newsletter asking for members who would like to mentor students in Virginia's school psychology programs. For our first year, we have 6 pairs of student/professionals. The mentors met for the first time at the VPA Convention at the VASP Social. If you would like to know more about the VASP Mentor Program, please contact Tamara Salamon.
Our greatest appreciation goes out to Larry Sutton for organizing the VASP social on Thursday night (10/22) of the VPA Convention. This was a great opportunity for VASP members to socialize and network. Thanks also goes out to Tom Byrnes (Brew-miester!) for providing the annual VASP Brau.
