Roanoke City Public Schools is an urban school division serving a prek-12 population of over 13,500 in 17 elementary schools, 5 middle schools, and 2 high schools.

RCPS School Psychologists serve as members of multidisciplinary teams to work to help students succeed academically, socially and emotionally. They collaborate with educators, parents and other professionals to promote supportive learning environments and to strengthen connections between home and school. RCPS School Psychologists perform psychological assessments of students relative to intellectual, social, adaptive, and emotional development and interpret and present findings to parents and staff. They actively participate in the deliberations to assist in determining the eligibility of students for special education programs. They provide support through counseling, consultation, and crisis response as needed and provide training as appropriate. 

Qualifications: Must hold or be eligible for a VDOE license with an endorsement in school psychology.

Salary and Benefits: Salary is based on the 2020-2021 salary scale (Administrators) considering education and experience. A standard employee benefits package is offered.
